Pop up & Flagship Store Design

Designing the layout of a Pop-Up store in Copenhagen. My task was to create a 1:1 scale of the retail space so the company could see a realistic representation of how the space could look beforehand. This is very important for a time restricted space as everything had to be ordered and prepared in advance and there was very short window of time to set everything up.

I measured existing display items, furnishings and decor and was given a list of items that were possible options to be purchased so I could look up photographs and measurements. Then I drew them all in 3D using Rhino. The next step was to go take measurements of the retail space where the Pop-up was to be. Once I had an accurate 3D model of the space the display items and furnishings could then be imported and rendered with proper colour and textures for a more realistic look. Being a 1:1 scale ment it was also possible to import existing jewellery and product 3D models to see them in the space as well.

It was then possible for the head of the design team and I to try out different layouts and rearrange  or replace items, test out different color schemes and branding materials. Once she was happy I made some renderings we could present to the heads of the other departments for feedback and opinions. Then it was possible to measure how much inventory there was space for, finalise a list of items to be purchased, branding and signage to be ordered.

When it came time to set up the store having a visual guide for people to follow made the process smooth and efficient and it was very easy to communicate with each other as everyone had a good idea of how the space was to look. As it was my first time creating a whole interior space instead of singular products it was extremely rewarding to see my 3D renderings come to life in real time and to see the final result.

Later when it came time to open their flagship store we were able to recreate the process. This time it was simpler and much faster with already having a large 'catalogue' of the items in 3D. It was also possible to try out new store layouts without having to physically move heavy furniture about and planning exhibition spaces for different trade fairs and events.
